PORTER CREEK SECONDARY LEADERship Education and Athlete Development PROGRAMS
SENIOR LEAD (GRADES 10-12) AND LEAD HOCKEY (GRADE 8) APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2017/2018 YEAR ARE NOW AVAILABLE
The purpose of the Grade 10-12 Leadership Education and Athlete Development program is to engage Porter Creek Secondary School students to participate in a combination of active living, wellness, leadership, and the essential streams of strength and conditioning. Along with the physical aspect, this program will also offer modern, interactive, educational seminars on topics necessary for them to be life-long learners in the field of health and physical education, and guest speakers specific to those topics. Aspects of First Nations traditional games and culture will also be examined in relation to the strength and conditioning component. This program not only caters to the student looking to maximize his or her training efficiency, but also engages students looking to maximize their potential both athletically and academically through health and wellness.
The Grade 8 PCSS LEAD Hockey Canada Skills Academy is a program that offers students a formal hockey and leadership training program within the academic setting to allow for achievement and excellence in sport education.
